Two brothers were charged Wednesday with aggravated robbery in connection with the Tuesday death of a Galveston County man.
The brothers charged – 23-year-old Jamie Posada Jr. and 21-year-old Ricardo Posada – were arrested Tuesday. They are being held in the Galveston County Jail on a $100,000 bail each, said Maj. Douglas Hudson with the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office.
A third suspect is still at large.
The victim’s body was found Tuesday on the side of the road in Alvin, in the 3300 block of West FM 517. The victim – a caretaker for the former Bradshaw’s Nursery – had been shot multiple times.
Investigators tracked down the Posada brothers through the license plate of a car seen speeding away from the site of the victim’s death, according to a news release from the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office.
Both men were found in Houston.
Ricardo Posada has one prior conviction in Harris County. He pled guilty in December of 2016 of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, according to court records. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail and had his license suspended for one year.
The suspects informed law enforcement they were told by a third person that they were going to the victim’s address to commit a burglary or theft, according to the news release. There was no discussion of harming or shooting the victim, they said. The name of the third person mentioned by the suspects has not been released.
