A cab driver was killed Wednesday in downtown Nashville after a van struck his vehicle from behind.

Metro police said the deadly crash involved four vehicles.

Police the wreck took place around 4 p.m. at Second Avenue South and Peabody Street.

The driver died after a Ford van struck the cab from behind.

The taxi appeared to belong to NashVegas cab. When reached by USA TODAY NETWORK – Tennessee, a supervisor with the company declined to comment.

Drivers are asked to avoid the area.
