A Charlotte man died early Sunday morning when the truck he was driving crashed into a tree, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
Steve Lindsey, 58, of Charlotte, was driving a 2011 Ford 350 truck at about 3 a.m. Sunday eastbound on Highway 49 when he ran off the left side of the road and struck a tree, according to the THP. The vehicle came to a final rest against the tree near the intersection of Highway 49 and Maple Valley Road.
Lindsey was wearing a seat belt, the THP report states.
Lindsey’s death is the second in a week on Highway 49 in Dickson County in which a lone driver crashed into a tree. Michael Davis, 35, of White Bluff, died July 7 when his Kia Sorento crashed into a tree after the vehicle left the road, according to the THP.
