Walmart shoppers in Minnesota got an unexpected surprise when a young deer wandered into the store by accident.
People at the store in Wadena believe the animal was searching for something to eat when it entered the store through the garden center doors on Tuesday.
UNEXPECTEDLY DANGEROUS: Deer chomps human bone ‘like a cigar
“It came in through the garden doors, and it must have been eating the flowers or something,” photographer Stephanie Koljonen told WDAY-TV.
Tom Grasswick, who, ironically, lives in Deer Creek, described to WDAY-TV what it felt like to be hit by a deer.
“It felt like I got slugged or something,” Grasswick told the station.
Grasswick says his first instinct was to tackle the animal, bringing it down on a pallet of dog food.
After tackling the animal, Grasswick and a few other customers covered the deer’s eyes to calm it down, and he and others took the animal outside and set it free.
The store has taken steps to prevent this from happening again.
