A flood advisory is in effect for a portion of Sumner County, according to the Nashville National Weather Service.

The advisory was issued early Friday morning and is in effect through 8:45 a.m.

Winds of up to 40 miles per hour are expected, according to the NWS.

In addition, a flash flood warning is in effect for areas including Shackle Island, Westmoreland and Walnut Grove through 9 a.m.
