Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo shakes up management

One of Texas’ biggest rodeos is undergoing some big changes.

Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo recently announced it would not renew the contract of Chief Operating Officer Dan Cheney.

A news release of the announcement said the change was made in order to restructure the organization.

“This decision is part of an overall strategy to better position the Show for the future,” detailed the announcement.

The announcement also noted that last week’s elimination of the general manger position, previously held by 9-year-employee Joe Bruce Hancock, was also part of organization’s restructuring.

Cheney joined the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo in 2014.
