A man has been arrested and charged in connection with a fatal shooting Wednesday morning in La Vergne.

According to La Vergne police, Trevor Wells, 28, of Natchez Court North in La Vergne, is currently in custody after the shooting death of 35-year-old Brandon Marable of Smyrna.

Wells was charged Wednesday night with first-degree murder and remains in jail, said Officer John Fesmire.

Police were dispatched to Wells’ house in the 200 block of Natchez Court at 2:18 a.m., where Marable had been shot.

He was transported to StoneCrest Medical Center, where he died.

Fesmire said police haven’t established a motive in the killing. It wasn’t immediately clear what kind of relationship the two men had.
