Metro police are investigating a fatal shooting after a man was found with a gunshot wound to the head Thursday night in East Nashville.

Around 8:20 p.m., officers responded to a reported shooting in the 600 block of Joseph Avenue. There, they found a male victim with a gunshot wound whom the Nashville Fire Department pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses told police they saw two suspects fleeing the scene in a large white truck, at least one armed with a pistol.

The suspects were described as black men, one wearing a gray hoodie and the other in a red and black hoodie and dark shorts. The men were seen fleeing toward Dickerson Pike.

Metro dispatch received multiple calls about the shooting, including reports that around 15 shots were fired.
