Federal authorities are investigating a bomb threat sent to fax machines and networked printers at locations around the country, including Vanderbilt University, the school posted on its website late Tuesday morning.

According to the university’s website, federal authorities, who do not believe the threat to be credible, are working to determine its origin.

The template document began appearing over the Memorial Day weekend in several states including Tennessee.

As of Tuesday morning, close to a half dozen locations at Vanderbilt had reported receiving the threat to Vanderbilt University Police Department.

Any others who have received the threat are asked to contact Vanderbilt police at 615-322-2745.

According to the school, police continue to monitor the situation and are working closely with Metro Nashville Police Department and federal authorities.
