Police seek public's help to identify assailants in September assault


Ottawa police are seeking the public’s assistance to identify suspects that may have been involved in a Sept. 8 assault that took place along Rideau Street.

According to police, at around 7:40 p.m. that day, the two female victims entered a fast food restaurant located near the Rideau Centre in downtown Ottawa. The two victims encountered a large group of 11 men and women inside the establishment. They decided to leave. Once outside they realized they had been followed out of the restaurant by members of the large group. According to police, a confrontation between the victims and the attackers escalated into an assault. One of the victims had a handbag taken from her during the course of the assault.
