Two people were killed in Charlotte last night, putting the city on pace to record 94 homicides this year.
Both men died of gunshot wounds, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police reported.
Police released the name of one of the victims – Joshua Duckworth, 23. Duckworth was killed on the 2300 block of Ginger Lane in northeast Charlotte shortly before 2 a.m.
Hours before, another 23-year-old was killed on the 2000 block of Pleasant Dale Drive in west Charlotte. Police haven’t released that victim’s identity.
Last year, 67 people were victims of homicides – the highest number since 2008, police data show.
