Millersville police are asking residents to stay inside, lock their doors and keep their eyes open as they continue to search for a man wanted for assaulting a law enforcement officer Monday morning.

Police say 27-year-old Terrell Stevenson pushed an officer to flee during a traffic stop at about 8:40 a.m. at 1206 Louisville Highway near Slaters Creek Road.

As the officer approached his vehicle, Stevenson got out, ignored the officer’s verbal commands to get back inside and “assaulted the officer and fled on foot,” according to a release issued by the department Monday evening.

The officer was not seriously injured, Millersville police said.

Stevenson, who is considered armed and dangerous, had been wanted by Metro police in connection to a separate case. It was not immediately known what he was wanted for by police in Nashville.

He was not believed to be in the Millersville area as of Monday evening, the release noted.

A passenger in Stevenson’s vehicle was arrested during the altercation, the release said.

Christina G. Powell was charged with resisting arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia, and simple possession of marijuana. She was booked into the Sumner County Jail, the release said.

Millersville Police was assisted in the search for Stevenson by the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Goodlettsville Police, White House Police, Metro Nashville Police, Sumner County Sheriff’s Office and Robertson County Sheriff’s Office, the release said.

Stevenson’s criminal history includes multiple drug-related convictions as well as theft and robbery, according to Davidson County court records.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact police immediately.
