Several tips on what to do if you’re involved in an auto accident.
A woman was hit and killed by a car overnight while walking across Nolensville Pike near Interstate 440, according to police.
Police have not been able to identify the woman, who was not carrying identification.
Police described her as white, heavyset and seemingly in her 30s. She was wearing a gray T-shirt with the word “Flawless” on it. Investigators have not determined why she was in the street.
She was hit by a 2017 Honda Accord in the southbound lane of Nolensville Road close to the intersection with Peachtree Street around midnight Sunday.
The driver, George Sawers, 19, told police he did not see the woman before he hit her. Police do not expect to charge Sawers, who was not injured in the crash.
