No titles changed hands at WWE Money in the Bank 2017, but “SmackDown Live” could be getting new champions in the near future. Baron Corbin has a WWE Championship opportunity whenever he wants it, and Carmella can have a SmackDown Women’s Championship Match at the moment of her choosing.
Here are the complete results of Money in the Bank 2017 from Sunday night, including a video for every match on the card:
United States Champion Kevin Owens, AJ Styles, Baron Corbin, Sami Zayn, Dolph Ziggler and Shinsuke Nakamura (Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match)
The last 20 minutes of this match were just about as exciting as anything on WWE TV in 2017. Owens took a few big bumps, Ziggler was powerbombed by Zayn from nearly the top of the ladder and Styles had a hold of the briefcase before the ladder was knocked out from under him and he fell back down to the ring. But the story of the match was Nakamura, who returned for the match’s final 10 minutes after being attacked by Corbin during his entrance. The Japanese superstar brought the crowd into a frenzy, taking out every wrestler in the match. He eventually squared off with Styles, potentially previewing one of the top matches at SummerSlam. With both wrestlers climbing the ladder, Corbin knocked them both off and grabbed the briefcase.
Winner: Baron Corbin
WWE Champion Jinder Mahal vs. Randy Orton
It was The Singh Brothers that, once again, allowed Jinder to defeat Orton. Orton delivered an RKO to the champ, but the Singh Brothers put Jinder’s leg on the bottom rope and allowed him to avoid a pinfall. When the champ’s lackeys began attacking Orton’s father, who was sitting ringside, he made sure they got what was coming to them. But that allowed Jinder too much time to recover, and he hit Orton with his finisher for the victory.
Winner: Jinder Mahal
Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Natalya vs. Tamina vs. Carmella (Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match)
The first-ever women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match didn’t even end with a woman climbing the ladder and grabbing the briefcase. James Ellsworth knocked the ladder over when Becky Lynch was at the top, allowing him to climb up and toss the briefcase to Carmella. It was an odd finish to what had been a good match, and “SmackDown Live” commissioner Daniel Bryan will address it Tuesday night when he makes his return to the show.
SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos vs. The New Day
Not surprisingly, this feud will continue well beyond Money in the Bank. It looked like The New Day were headed to their first title win with the blue brand, but The Usos walked away and took the count out, losing the match but retaining their belts.
Winner: The New Day
SmackDown Women’s Champion Naomi vs. Lana
Lana held her own in her first-ever singles match, though it wasn’t surprising to see her tap out to Naomi to end the match. Carmella made her way to ringside and teased a cash-in during the match, but she held onto the briefcase.
Breezango vs. The Ascension
In a match that wasn’t advertised to be on the card, Fandango rolled up Viktor for the win. Breezango is no longer in the title picture, but their “Fashion Files” series has been successful enough to warrant them a spot on the PPV.
The Hype Bros. vs. The Colons (Kickoff Match)
The Hype Bros. won their first match as a tag team since Zack Ryder’s return from injury. Ryder and Mojo Rawley could find themselves in the SmackDown Tag Team Championship picture before too long, but don’t be surprised if one of them turns heel and they begin a feud against one another in the near future.
Winner: The Hype Bros.
